The Dining Room
So the living room still has some (2 small) things to be done, but the Dining room got it’s final item installed today (a light switch plate cover). Now I can share!!!
Before (well after the chandelier change but before everything else!!!):

One of the things that bugged me about this room before ( besides the various sickly greens) was this:

why put in a nice floor and not finish the trim???? But that was a big theme in the house… Anyways now we have this:

Much better, don’t you think? ( My I guess I need to clean the slider track!!! update: cleaned it!!!)
And probably my favorite part of this rooms makeover is the door:

So what do you think? Again we used all historic colors. These are the Biltmore house Breakfast room collection. Royal Red on the walls, Deep Mocha for the trim, and spicy nutmeg as an accent. What all was done in here? The thresh hold was added, the chandelier was changed out, a light switch plate was custom cut to fit a weird light switch, the walls, trims and doors were painted, and we moved some furniture around so we could move more easily around the table.
It now feels like you are in a nice hotel or a historic bed and breakfast.
On another note, 61 taps are now running.

I LOVE it! It looks so warm and inviting! Great job!
It looks fabulous! Just curious, but how many coats of red did you have to do?
What a nice refreshing change!
3 coats. With a really fat roller.
Ugh. That was smart! I used a regular sized roller, a tinted primer, and it still took 4 freaking coats of paint. Next time I will try it with a fat roller.
