Have you ever licked a cow?
No? Well neither have I! But I now know what it would taste like, and let me tell you it is pretty disgusting!!!
How did I have the pleasure of finding this out? Well the other day the milk tasted a little well, cowy. I mean it reminded us of the diner we refuse to go to because it feels like you are sitting in the barn with the cows, the smell and the taste of the food is just a very dairy (barn) smell. I don’t really know how to describe it other than that. We tried adding chocolate to the milk but it didn’t really help at all, so I few it out to the chickens, I don’t think they will care (and they didn’t), the next day as I pulled the cream out of the fridge to whip up some butter, I thought twice, why go through all that if it would taste like the milk did? So I stuck my finger in and took and lick.
Yeach! Ugh, Uh Bletch <shiver> it was horrible! Apparently the fat in the cream just intensified the cowy flavor. The taste stuck at the back of my tongue, I could not rinse it out, scrape it off or drink through it! I could smell the awful flavor coming out of my nose and it was so awful! It was like I swilled some manure in the milk, added a big squeeze of cow sweat and sprinkled dirt on top then cooked it up into a nice pudding and gobbled it down! All from just one finger lick!
I have no idea how that batch of milk went wrong, but I hope I never experience it again, just thinking about it makes me cringe, and I now know what a cow would taste like if anyone should ever ask. Please don’t go and lick a cow, take my word for it, it is not an experience you would want to ever experience.
