Aba was moved

by this video so much it brings him to tears, and that is rare.

We are all grasping at strings at this point. The whole country and the economy are failing fast. I am scared of Palin, and fearful of McCain. I don’t necessarily support Obama and know nothing of Biden. I am hopeful that our country can be saved, that somehow we can prevent a second great depression, and that WWIII does not start with Russia and China.

For years Aba and I have been seeing the economy begin to crumble, we lost a lot during the fall out of the world trade center destruction “9/11″ and the deportation of troops oversees. We have tried ever since then to be more sustainable, to do what we can to pay off bills and reduce our mortgage. When we said we were moving to a farm and be as sustainable as possible, we were given strange looks by many, told we were crazy by others and still more just shook their heads.

The state of our nation was only one of many reasons we choose to move, we have been trying to own land for years, we have always wanted to supply our family with our own food, for Aba to be at home more, to distance our selves from “uncle Sam” the government and taxes, for our children to have room to roam, and be one with nature, for me to have space from neighbors and not feel trapped in and to help Aba.

People are now starting to come around to commend us for moving, for trying to sustain ourselves, and getting “off the grid”, people are saying we made a good choice that we got out just in time, that they want to do the same, but we are just doing what we feel is right for us, for our family, what we have wanted to do for years.

I hope this election brings some change, some good to our nation. I hope the economy rebounds, that our troops are brought home, and our boarders are secured. I hope that we can all afford health care, our schools become the best in the nation, we have enough jobs for our people, and good healthy food for our tummies, I hope the obesity epidemic is cured, that once again we can be the proud country that people looked up to around the world rather than fat rude Americans, that stick their noses in everybody’s business and try to police the world. I hope that we as a nation can pick the right man to run our great nation and pull us up by our bootstraps.  Who that man is I don’t know, but I hope we can make the best choice with the choices we have been given.
