Things are getting better after the hail storm. Our potatoes have completely recovered. They are even begining to flower. the lettuce has bounced back and the pumpkins have sprouted. We have finished planting the cucumbers and replanted the corn and squash ( only 28 corn survived the onslaught of hail). Our strawberries while damaged to a point where it is not producing fruit, have pulled though and can devide for next year. Our onions look great. We still can’t find the carrots, so they are lost, and everything in the seed trays was destroyed for teh most part. 2 trays of peppers, 28 random tomatoes, 1 squash, 7 okra, and 3 melons seem to be adding on some new leaves, so we have given them the benefit of the doubt and planted them out anyways. We purchased 14 tomatoe plants from one of the nursuries in town (no they are not heirloom, we will not sell their fruits, and they were all that was left out of 4 stores). Out of the over 100 yams maybe 5 will pull through. The peanuts have all sprouted and we are making the best of it.
We can survive off of potatoes eggs, and milk right ( if the chickens ever start laying that is) right?
