While I am no means a computer guru, many family members including Aba rely on me to do most computer repairs and upgrades, even if that means trekking their laptops over 1000 miles here from California, or waiting for me to come and visit to fix there desktops. And while I don’t mind helping anyone who requests it, I figured that maybe this is not common knowledge on what kinds of preventative maintenance one should be doing on their computers to keep them running smoothly and speedily, and since I can not run around cyberspace helping all those who need it I am giving you step by step instructions on how to fix it yourself, for those of you who do not have your own Administer of information The Major things that every one should do routinely are to do disk cleanups, disk defragmentation, and run bug destroying programs in my opinion ( you know the ones that get rid of viruses, Trojans, adware, etc.) So lets start today with disk cleanup.

1. turn off all programs.
2. click on the start button
3. select all programs
4. select accessories
5. select system tools
6. select disk cleanup
7. you will want to clean up drive C so then hit okay
8. and wait while your computer calculates…
9. once done a box will pop up. You will want to make sure the following boxes are checked ( even if they say 0 KB): Downloaded program files
i. temporary Internet files
ii. recycle bin
iii. temporary files
iv. web client/ publisher temporary files
v. temporary offline files
vi. offline files
vii. compress old files
10. Select okay
11. select Yes you want to perform these tasks
12. And wait again.
13. When you are done the box will close on its own.

And there you go, simple as pie step one of computer maintenance is done!!
