Hide and Seek at Midnight.
So we have been playing a game of sorts for the last few weeks. A game in which I did not choose to participate. A game of Hide and seek. JoJo, our youngest recently moved from his cribby to a toddler bed. We first tried this for a few nights before we left on our trip to California after a camping trip in which he refused to go to sleep unless he was sleeping next to the big kids. Well, it worked wonderfully, we returned from California and it was still fine, every night we would tuck him and Froggy in and they would fall fast asleep. That is until our game began. It started suddenly one evening when I was headed up stairs to check on my precious ones on my own way to sleep and found an empty bed! Well, I searched all over and eventually found him fast asleep in the corner of the room. The next night I found him in his sisters bed, and after that it became a nightly ritual I would go upstairs to find the bed empty and then begin to search for a little boy in the dark. Some evenings it was easy to find him, like when he fell asleep behind the door so I could barely open it to enter the room, or where I couldnt open it at all, and had to gently push him out of the way till Nathan or I could enter. But most nights it was a much more entertaining game. I have found him under his crib, in Navis top bunk, half way under his own bed, in the corner, in the hallway, on the floor of Nathan and my room, in Baileys bunk, under the slide that is connected to the bunk beds, curled up with Judah wherever he happened to be sleeping, and lastly in Nathan and my bed, on Nathans side hiding amongst the pillows ( it appears he was trying to use some as blankets and some as a pillow). I was always able to move him easily back to his own bed with out a problem or a cry, and tuck him back in with Froggy where he slept peacefully till morning. Well lo and behold! Tonight he stayed put in his bed! I am hoping this is the end of the game (as it is not one of my favorites) and not just a fluke from being over tired after a long weekend of camping and running around out of doors! So here is to a night with out an impromptu game of hide and seek with a sleeping one year old.
